Höstdagjämningen inträffar
när solskivans centrum passerar gränsen mellan norra och södra
himmelssfären det vill säga passerar himmelsekvatorn. Punkten på
himmelsekvatorn där passagen sker kallas höstdagjämningspunkten.
Vid höstdagjämningen är natten nästan lika lång som
dagen överallt på jordytan. Att dagen ändå fortfarande är något
längre beror på horisontalrefraktion, en optisk effekt som kröker
horisonten, samt på gryning och skymning

(Skandinavien) infaller höstdagjämningen kl: 08.21 den 23
september.
Höstdagjämningen är inte en dag, utan en
ögonblicklig händelse.
Den inträffar vid en bestämd tidpunkt,
vid olika klockslag på skilda ställen på jorden beroende på i
vilken tidszon man befinner sig. På grund av skottårscykeln
varierar tidpunkten för höstdagjämningen, varför den på norra
halvklotet kan inträffa antingen den 22 eller 23 september.

Autumnal
Equinox occurs when the center of the face of the sun crosses the border between the
northern and southern celestial sphere, that is, passing the celestial
equator. The point on the celestial equator, where the passage takes place is called the Autumnal Equinox.
At the autumnal equinox, the night is almost as long as the day everywhere on earth. That the day still remains somewhat longer depends on the horisontal refraktion, an optical effect curving the horizon, and at dawn and dusk
In my part of the world (Scandinavia) autumnal equinox occurs at: 8:21 on 23 September.
The autumnal equinox is not a day, it is an instantaneous event.
It occurs at a particular time, which is different at different places on Earth, depending on which time zone you are in. Because of the leap year cycle vary the time of the autumnal equinox, which
is why the northern hemisphere equinox may occur either on 22 or 23 September.
